August 8th of 2015 will go down as the day in which I was asked a question to change my life for the better. We had been talking about going to the walking bridge in Jeffersonville and taking the kids for about a week. That Saturday the day of the proposal, Brandon said he was going to cook dinner for us and if we felt up to it we could go for a walk on the bridge. Last minute he decided we were going to go to dinner. (Keep in mind I am very nosy and investigate things so it is hard for him to get things past me. One of the qualities about me that irritates him haha)
We went to eat at Buckheads on the river then decided to go walk up on the bridge. About halfway through the walk we sat down on a bench with my daughter sitting next to me. He stood up and kneeled down in front of Ava. He pulled out an Origami necklace which had different charms inside. He showed Ava what the charms meant and stated the cross was for her faith and the heart, that said family on it, was for us. He asked her if it would be okay if we became a family and she said yes. He then proceeded to pull out a ring box and asked me to marry him. Of course I said YES!
The fact that my little girl was asked alongside with me just speaks volumes of the man that he is. I am one lucky gal! (Oh and it doesn't hurt that he bought a ring that had EVERYTHING I wanted:)) |
